Evan's First day of School

Now, it's not what you think. I'm not sending him off to boarding school!! Our local church has a program that is just one day a week from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

However, it wasn't without tears....MINE not Evan's!! HAHA!! It was much harder than I thought it would be.

So, I didn't want to embarrass him on his first day, but here are a few pictures....

Opening the door....starting a new chapter!

He did pretty good. When I called about a half hour later he was a little upset and was looking for me. When they called me back 45 minutes after that he was doing fine and enjoying a morning snack with his class!

I was really excited to pick him up! He walked right over to me and handed a car to me that he had been playing with. Although, as I was speaking to one of the teachers he grabbed my hand and started leading me out the front door! It was so cute...I think he had enough and was ready to come home.

He's still sleeping and I put him down for his nap at 1:30 and it's 3:13 now. School definitely tuckered him out!

Frederick Fair with Little Gym Splinter Cell Playgroup!

On Tuesday we went to the Great Frederick Fair with our LGSC Playgroup.

Evan had a blast!!! He got to see chickens, bunnies, goats, cows, and TRACTORS!!!

Here are the little people of the group from left to right:

I braved it a little and let Evan walk around. He did fairly well and didn't wander off too much. Evan avoided some massive piles of cow manure!!Mary Lou and I tried and tried to get a picture of Evan and Chase.....obviously they weren't as eager as we were!I was surprised by this move on Evan's part!! He actually stuck his arm in a pen to pet a baby cow! It was so cute. That's Mandy beside him petting too!

But ALAS....Evan's favorite part!! MACHINERY!!!!

The Great Frederick Fair has a section called "Machinery Row" and this was by far Evan's FAVORITE!!

He's on his way to come get me to help him up on a tractor!! AND FAST!!Once mom gave him a boost he decided to finish climbing up all by himself.He sat up there a long time driving and making his tractor sounds! This one really cracks me up!! You can see what he looks like while he's making his tractor sounds!!He also insisted on having his seat belt fastened!! SAFETY FIRST!!

After quite a while and telling the group we would catch up to them...I did convince Evan to move on...well at least to John Deere Tractors!!

Overall he had a great time. After the tractors we had some hot pretzels and drinks with our friends and headed home for a nap!! All this "farming" made him tired!!

It rained...so I shopped!!!

So there are no pictures to speak of.....we do have these from yesterday. And they are quite spectacular!! If I do say so myself!!


Evan is flying HIGH on vacation!! There isn't a bit of fear in his eyes! He Loved it!!

Little Buddy Beach

Yes, it's officially named!! We even saved it on the GPS. Our favorite spot on the four wheel drive beach is now to be known as:

Little Buddy Beach!!

For anyone who may not know, in Corolla where we stay there are wild horses that roam the beaches. Chris and Jim went to watch the sunrise this morning and caught some horses eating breakfast in the dunes. It's amazing when you see them.

Evan was so confused when everyone was out in the water and they would ride the waves in and then go back into the water. So, I finally had to call out to Jim to come get Evan and let him catch some waves of his own.

OBX Day 9

This morning Chris would kiss his necklace and then Evan would kiss it too. It was so adorable. Jessica, Chris's girlfriend has the other half and is serving in Iraq. Then we did some time in the pool before Evan napped and we headed out to the 4x4 beach again for the rest of the day.

Yes, we pulled a "Britney Spears" maneuver. But it's just on the beach....Chris and Evan were in the back seat of Jim's truck. Evan
This is so funny. Evan just loves driving on the beach and watching all the trucks go by.

This is what it looks like driving down the 4x4 beach. It's so cool that you can just load up the truck and head on out. It's so much fun!!!
Evan was super excited to spend the rest of the day at the beach and he jumps right in. Don't worry Mom, you can see Jim's shadow off to the right of Evan!! :)
He likes to gather up water and then dump it on himself.

After Chris and Jim finished up some body surfing it was time for more digging in the sand. Evan likes to have his legs buried.

He was just covered in sand!! There was like 6lbs of sand in his Little Swimmer! Digging for Fiddler Crabs....
They did find 2!!! And NOOO I didn't eat them!! :)I think we are just digging.... :)

Evan was out of his wet clothes and then just hung out on the beach naked!! He had so much fun. But since there are sickos out there I can't post them!!

We had a really great day. Only 4 more days left....But we plan to make the most of them!
