Some thoughts the day after Mother's Day

My plan is not bore you with the normal crap…..life changing event…blah blah…..you'll never love anything more...yada yada yada.

Motherhood has been harder than I thought and easier than I expected. Bear in mind, I am basing this on my vast 6.5 months of experience!!!

Here are a few observations….I've narrowed them down.

1. You are never louder than when you are trying to NOT wake a sleeping baby. For Example: While showering in a room that is adjacent to your baby's room, you will inevitably drop the shampoo bottle, razor and soap about 27 times.

2. Any time you are in a rush and buckling your baby in the car seat he/she WILL take the biggest crap of their life. Guaranteed.

3. You will indeed spill an entire bottle around 4:18 AM when you are the most tired and your 2 week old is crying like …..well like a baby!!

4. Babies don't bounce…myth. No truth to it. Bumbles might…babies don't. (that is a Rudolph reference, you should know that)

5. Be prepared for the green bean sneeze. I was not.

6. Yes, they can reach that glass of diet coke and dump it. Yes they can….

7. Do not let your 5 month old hold your shopping list at the grocery store. They will immediately start chomping on it like a termite in a woodpile, turning to a ball of mush.

8. No such thing s too many bibs…babies leak drool like the Exxon Valdez.

9. Why aren't babies born with the ability to blow their noses? How was this overlooked?

10. Oh, and they will change your life and you'll never love anything more!!! HA!!

Now the sappy part… YOU SUCKERS!

His eyes make me love him more everyday

Looking into them gives me hope

His smile will make you smile

Seeing it makes life more worthwhile

His laugh is completely contagious

Hearing it, my heart just giggles

His warmth will make you want to hold him forever

And I plan to

Thank you Evan.

Evan cheezing it up....

Evan is doing really well. He has 1 1/2 teeth! Still sleeping through the night though! Just about a gallon of drool a day! Here are some pictures I took of him today!
